Meridian

Every city, under its real sky.

World clocks for people who work across time zones. Every key is a city: the sun where it really stands there right now, the time, how far it is from you, and whether the people there are at work, awake or asleep.

Twenty-four hours round the world in sixteen seconds, as the plugin draws them

The sky on the key is the sky over the city

The sun on each key stands where it really stands over that city this minute: low and orange at sunrise, high at noon, gone behind the skyline at dusk. At night the stars come out and the moon is in its true phase. The windows light up in the evening and go dark as the city goes to bed.

Sunrise and sunset are worked out for each city and each date, and are right to within a few minutes. Nothing is fetched to do it.

At work, awake or asleep

Each key says in one word and one colour whether it is a good time to write, to call, or to leave them alone. Working hours and working days are set per key, in that place's own time, so a key can stand for an office, a team or one person.

Give a key a name and it shows Maya instead of New York. When it is already tomorrow somewhere, the key names the day.

A Stream Deck Neo with San Francisco asleep before dawn, New York, London and Berlin at work in daylight, Delhi and Tokyo awake after dark, and Sydney asleep under the stars

When can everyone meet?

The Overlap key looks a week ahead and shows the next time all your cities are at work at once, in your own time, and for how long. If there is no such hour, as with San Francisco and Tokyo, it shows the kindest one: the time most people are at work and nobody has to be woken.

Tap it and every clock on the deck glides to that moment, so you see the meeting from every seat. Tap again to come back to now.

10:50 in London. New York is still asleep. The overlap is at 15:00 your time.

Turn every clock at once

Earlier and Later move the whole deck through the day, by 15 minutes up to 3 hours a press, as far as three days either way. Hold a key to keep going. The suns move, the lights come on, the statuses change.

While the clocks are turned, every key wears a gold frame, so a planned time is never mistaken for the present. Leave them alone and they return to now by themselves.

Tap a city
The date there, the difference from UTC and from you, today's sunrise and sunset, and when work starts or ends.
130 cities
Search by city, country or time zone. For anywhere else, type its time zone.
19 landmarks
From the Eiffel Tower to the Sydney Opera House, drawn into the skyline of the city they belong to.
Set up in seconds
A new key picks the next city on a tour of the world by itself, starting with your own.
Summer time
Comes from your computer's own time zone rules, so it is as current as your system.
Half hours
India's half hour and Nepal's three quarters are shown as they are.
12 or 24 hours
As your computer writes the time, or as you choose.
The south
Seen from Sydney the sun crosses the sky the other way round, and the moon is lit on the other side. So it is on the key.

On a Neo, the Infobar shows the whole day at once

Your own time and date, the overlap, and every city as a dot on one day of sky from midnight to midnight. Who is in daylight and who is in the dark shows at a glance.

Round the world. Seven cities, from Sydney past midnight to Tokyo before it.

What it doesn't do

No account, no sign-in, no network requests, no analytics, no permissions. Meridian reads your computer's clock and its time zone rules and nothing more. It does not show the weather: the sky on the key is where the sun is, not whether it is raining.
